The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck; A 3 minutes review

If you are someone who has touched the rock bottom, reached the end of the tunnel and there is no light like the motivational quotes stated? Stay with me, because I’m going to give you the elixir you need to get back up. Sound crazy right? But give me 3 minutes of your precious time and then download this masterpiece.
“THE Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k”

About the book
This book by Mark Manson was originally published on September 13, 2016 (thanks to Wikipedia). You know when writers make both reality and life advice sound too boring? Not this guy. With every word, he is going to give you a giant sarcastic hug. At least that’s what I felt. Now, you are at the end of the tunnel and all you need is a fresh perspective and that’s what this book is going to give you. It is about learning to live with problems you love instead of a utopia of problem-free life. Unlike its title, it will show you how to give a fuck about things that you consider most important. It is not going to take you towards the indifference boat; it will show you how to keep sailing your different boat by not giving a fuck about all the waves. It urges you to take responsibility for your own life.

My thoughts
I think this book is capable of changing one’s perception of life. The writer has taken scientific, economic, and logical approaches in all of the subjects he discussed. The choice of words is so simple yet so appealing it captivates the reader. The moment you feel like you are being proved wrong, and before you feel like a loser, here comes the sarcasm to cheer you up. He used a lot of examples to explain failure and success which makes his ideas easy to comprehend. And relationships, well, I haven’t read a more relatable idea of toxic and healthy relationships before. It is like a mirror that will help you see your Devil in disguise believe me. So after reading the book, you will say goodbye to the victim you think you are and take responsibility for your life. Besides its non-traditional motivational words, this book will end up giving you more than you need to start over. Only thing I hate about this book is when the writer called star wars prequel trilogy boring (how could he?) and besides trying my best not to, I do give a fuck.
My favorite quotes from the book
“The desire for more positive experience is itself is a negative experience.”
Mark Manson, the Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good life
“Life is essentially an endless series of problems. The solution to one problem is merely the creation of another.”
Mark Manson, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life
“Our crisis is no longer material; it’s existential, it’s spiritual. We have so much fucking stuff and so many opportunities that we don’t even know what to give a fuck about anymore.”
Mark Manson, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life
“There is a simple realization from which all personal improvement and growth emerges. This is the realization that we, individually, are responsible for everything in our lives, no matter the external circumstances. We don’t always control what happens to us. But we always control how we interpret what happens to us, as well as how we respond. Whether we consciously recognize it or not, we are always responsible for our experiences. It’s impossible not to be. Choosing to not consciously interpret events in our lives is still an interpretation of the events of our lives. Choosing”
Mark Manson, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life
“Being open with your insecurities paradoxically makes you more confident and charismatic around others. The pain of honest confrontation is what generates the greatest trust and respect in your relationships. Suffering through your fears and anxieties is what allows you to build courage and perseverance. Seriously,”

  1. A good read, well versed 👏
No doubt, Attenbough and Dr Jane Goodall are the biggest environmentalists struggling for protection of nature for more than half century. Severn Suzuki's speech in 1992 Earth summit and lately her role is remarkable. DiCaprio is also active since last 15 years. Greta has been emerged as a symbol of youth demanding for safe environment for future generations has inspired not only the public but also to governments and international organizations.
I would like to mention former US vice president Algore's role in environmental causes since 2005. Also, Michael E Mann, Hockey Stick fame is also worth mentioning.

The impact of science on society: Bertrand Russell's analysis

"Knowledge is power, but it is power for evil as much as for good. It follows that, unless men increase in wisdom as much as in knowledge, increase of knowledge will be increase of sorrow"  These are the words of Bertrand Russell. A British polymath, logician, mathematician, antiwar activist, philosopher, and an author. He has been called "the father of logic" by many and there's no doubt that he is. I'm taking you to one of his most famous works; the impact of science on society. About the book:  The book consists of lectures delivered by him on many occasions. Almost all of these lectures were delivered after world war 2. The idea of this book revolves around both positive and negative impacts that science created on society. Also, what can still happen in future. How can mankind use science to move towards prosperity or deterioration. It gives a clear insight on scientific democracy and dictatorship. Russell's philosophy involves rationality and truth...

You, me and Microplastics

Microplastics (MPs) are the hottest topic now a days and they should be because they are everywhere and by everywhere I mean EVERYWHERE. The oceans, the Islands, the lakes, the sediments, inside the organisms and even in human blood too. before we go further lets see What are they?  There is no agreed upon definition of Mps in scientific literature but some scientists define them as tiny plastic particles with a size range between 1μm-5mm. They can be of different shapes and colors (transparent as well)  and are released into the environment directly or indirectly. Directly through washing machines, industries and personal care products (watch your glitter use, folks) while Indirect exposure means the breakdown of larger plastic pieces into smaller ones (how? a topic for another day). Why Worry?  Mps are a pollutant of emerging concern for multiple reasons.  They are everywhere  They are a threat to ecological health  Small organisms eat them and they ...
